Unveiling A Billion Startups: Nurturing Kenyan Entrepreneurs

Glass House PR, embedded in Kenya’s thriving entrepreneurial environment, proudly introduces its pioneering program, A Billion Startups (ABS). This innovative program, led by the visionary Mary Njoki, a trailblazer known for transforming Glass House PR from a startup to a successful enterprise, conveys a vision of cultivating a network that extends its influence far beyond Kenya, nurturing growth, mentorship, and innovation across the African continent.

Launched in 2017, A Billion Startups  has nurtured over 400 startups, training 100 entrepreneurs who have, in turn, become mentors, creating a powerful network that continues to grow. Now, as ABS launches its new cohort from March 2024, the program welcomes all entrepreneurs to partake in the journey of growth, learning, and collaboration.

Mary Njoki, the founder, has a tale that many Kenyan entrepreneurs can relate to. Mary began her journey in 2012 with minimal capital and a laptop, but her dedication and belief transformed Glass House PR into an example of achievement. A Billion Startups hopes to replicate this success for all it’s program participants by creating an atmosphere in which companies can thrive and are backed by a community that believes in their potential.

A Billion Startups’ Threefold Aim

A Billion Startups stands on three pillars – Capacity Building, Fostering Community, and Capital Injection. The program trains, mentors, and builds capacity with a specific focus on youth and women-led startups. Through creating a supportive community, A Billion Startups enhances collaboration and partnerships among startups. Furthermore, the program provides access to funding, enabling startups to scale and thrive.

Mary envisions A Billion Startups as a tree, its branches growing with beneficiaries who become mentors, spreading their knowledge like stars across different sectors. The program’s goal is to create a place of security, shade in the challenging times of entrepreneurship, and a hub for entrepreneurs to share ideas, network, and grow together under the protective branches of ABS.
